The band's new single "Eva", which was used to announce the band's new singer last week, is at the center of a plagiarism controversy, as Teotso, the "Finnish RIAA", claims the chorus of the song is almost the same as an obscure Finnish recording.
The song is reportedly very similar to "Whirlpool" by Jukka Reinivuo.
Here's some Finnish stuff about it that I cant read. Blabbermouth was kind enough to get the details in English, and to provide links to both "Eva" and "Whirlpool", so fans can decide for themselves what the deal is here.
I don't know, I think the bigger question is how the hell anyone can consider Nightwish to be a metal band, but nobody but little old me ever seems to ask that.
Truth be told, they maybe sound a bit similar, but I'm not sure if that's because they really sound the same, or if I just equally dislike them both.
