Brent Hinds of Mastodon injured his head in Vegas after the VMAs -- that was well-known. He's expected to make a full recovery -- again, this news had been reported. But, now, the real dirt has come to light: Hinds' injuries were a result of a fight with System of a Down bassist Shavo Odadjian.
And we're not talking amateur shit, here. He's suffering from brain hemorrhaging, a broken nose, and two black eyes. So what happened?
Hinds was reportedly leaving the Mandalay Bay Hotel at 3 in the morning and was, not surprisingly, smashed. He approached Odadjian and musician William Hudson, "took off his shirt and hit Odadjian with it, then struck Hudson in both the face and chest, prompting Odadjian to advise Hinds 'to relax' several times. The police report then indicates both Odadjian and Hudson punched Hinds in the face, knocking him to the ground."
Sounds like he might have deserved to have his ass handed to him, although let it be stated for the record: Mastodon is way more badass than System of a Down.
