Madonna spent the recent Jewish New Year in Israel, celebrating with the nation's President, Shimon Peres.
According to a local newspaper, the Yediot Ahronot daily, Madonna told Peres that she was doing her best to get the word out on the religion.
Madonna was quoted as saying:
You don't know how popular the Book of Splendor is among Hollywood actors. Everyone I meet talks to me only about that. I am an ambassador for Judaism.
In fact, she spread the word so well that Demi Moore, Ashton Kutcher, Rosie O'Donnell and Donna Karan all turned out for the celebration, which doubled as a conference about Kabbalah. And this next part, I can't even bring myself to type, so I'm just going to cut and paste from MSN.com:
The Haaretz daily quoted Kutcher as telling a group of Israeli businessmen and entertainers on Saturday that Kabbalah had answered fundamental questions in his life and made him a better actor.
Damn you, Chris Kutcher! First trucker hats, now Kabbalah? "WE'RE GOIN' BIG, WE'RE CELEBRATIN' KABBALAH!!!" Is there any trend Kutcher won't embrace? If a couple people in Hollywood started wearing bear traps on their heads, would Kutcher see it and immediately go down to the hunting store to get himself fitted?
