As if you didn't need enough reason to check out the much-ballyhooed LCD Soundsystem and Arcade Fire show at New York City's Randall's Island on October 6, concert organizers just went and added, in this dude's deliriously biased opinion, the greatest live band working to the bill. Les Savy Fav.

According to Pitchfork today, the band will open up the Saturday show and probably play some new material from their upcoming first LP in seven years, Let's Stay Friends.

Try to resist...

True story: while walking to catch the bus this morning I saw a poster for the show with the mysterious and enticing detail that there would also be "friends" or "special guests."

"Hmm," I thought to myself. "I wonder who that might be?"

It's funny how life works out like that sometimes. Shoutmouth: listening to my inner dialogue so you don't have to.

Um, anyway, the band signed to Wichita Records for UK distribution on the new album. It will be out October 1 in that country and September 18 in this one. They'lll also be playing Brooklyn's Music Hall of Williamsburg on September 21 and New York's Bowery Ballroom on September 22.
