LeAnn Rimes lucked out, according to her. Thanks to GAC, she's on record giving her parents a shout for being able to take her career beyond childhood stardom.
"I had great parental guidance. I had a great base there with my family, and I just wanted to prove people wrong. I think people were always waiting for me to really make a mistake and really hurt myself in some way and not end up with a career as an adult. People were just waiting for me to fail, and I so wanted to just prove them wrong and I have, so that's a good thing," LeAnn said.
LeAnn has certainly overcome the average potential for childhood stars (here's lookin' at you Billy Gilman), but she hasn't had the same kind of hits she did in her early days. Regardless, LeAnn's new single is doing all right and her next album, Family, will be out on August 28.
