It came as no surprise to any of us here in the less than glamorous real world to learn of Lindsay La La Land Lohan’s most recent lawless antics this past Tuesday evening. Lindsay, just two weeks out of rehab and sporting an ever so chic anklet/alcohol-monitoring device, went boozin’ on the town and ended her evening in handcuffs. Police slapped the mischievous star with two felony charges and two misdemeanors after she was busted in a car chase in hot pursuit of her former assistant’s mother. Drunken Lindsay terrified the Mom, who phoned for help after being aggressively followed by an erratically driven vehicle. Talk about a MEAN GIRL!
Cops arrived on the scene to find a drunken Lindsay with a bag of coke in her pocket. Opps! It gets better folks. Now, as MSNBC is reporting, Lindsay’s troubles just went from bad to worse. Legal experts are now estimating Lindsay could face up to 180 days in the clinker for her bad behavior. Her only hope? Rehab. Again, for the 3rd time this year. Yawn. Apparently, if Lindsay can gather the right “recovery team” (including doctors and addiction specialists) she can head to rehab while awaiting trial and plea to remain there rather then don a prison outfit.
Our prison system is already packed to the gills, and rehab would be a more likely outcome. On the other hand, Paris didn’t get off so easy, so why should Lindsay? Then again, these are not your average DUI’ers we’re speaking about. These stars have enough money to hire top legal defense teams that would never be possible for an average person to obtain. Since Lindsay has another DUI case from earlier this year still pending, and this current DUI case as well as drug charges now piled on, things could get very complicated. Experts debate the possible outcome, and while some still say a prison sentence in inevitable however short, others argue that with the right defense team Lindsay may manage to hop the fence on this one. And would rehab for the star really be that bad? Hell, I wouldn’t mind a few months of massages, pool time and pampering.
