Keith Urban has blamed paparazzi for causing him to crash his motorcycle on the way to an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting. Urban is no Princess of Wales and he certainly was left uninjured, but this is the kind of craziness that makes the paparazzi so slimy.
Urban wrecked his bike near his and wife Nicole Kidman's home in Sydney. He later released a statement about the accident.
"While out riding to an AA meeting, a time when my privacy is
especially important to me, I felt myself being pursued. I sped up, and in an
effort to elude an oncoming car, which was making an illegal U-turn, saw no
choice but to drop my bike," Urban said.
Sounds bad, right? But I guess this particular member of the paparazzi wasn't the usual suspect. With an ounce or two of dignity in tow, the would-be stalker ended up helping Urban out.
"In actual fact, my pursuer came to my assistance, without taking photos, and helped me from the road. I returned home, got my car, and continued on my way," Urban continued in the statement.
The singer is also looking at property in Nashville and headed back out on the road on November 1.
