The pseudo-rivalry between Kanye West and 50 Cent got even more absurd today as Jay-Z, president of Def Jam, announced his refusal to move the release date for Ye's Graduation and explained that he thought that the competition would be good for business.

As you might recall, it recently came out that 50 Cent and Kanye West will both be releasing their next albums (Curtis and Graduation respectively) on September 11.

Shortly after Kanye had his release pushed back to said date which was first occupied by Curtis, 50 was on the warpath. He appeared on Funkmaster Flex's radio show and announced that he wouldn't be budging, but that he expected Jay-Z to move Ye's drop date.

Jay responded to Fif in an interview with MTV News last week, which made its way to the web today:

I think it's great, I think it's a fantastic day for hip-hop. I remember having those dates [facing against] Outkast a couple of times. I actually had one with G-Unit [with Beg for Mercy]. It's great. It's a fantastic thing for hip-hop, especially retail. I know they're loving it. You're driving people to the store. We love it, we think it's a fantastic thing.

And, as if Jay signing off on the competition weren't enough, Eskay at Nah Right, points us in the direction of Bodog.com, which is taking prop bets on the matter.

While you're there why don't you also put a sawbuck down on your pick for next celebrity to fight Andy Dick.

God bless America Antigua.
