John Mellencamp plans to join the Boston Pops for their annual Fourth of July show on the banks of the Charles River.

Mellencamp's website statement said he would play "some of his hits," according to the AP. Duh, Cougar.

The show, officially titled "Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular" will be aired live on CBS and hosted by Craig Ferguson. Yay, Craig Ferguson. The show should be really entertaining.
