Nashville can officially start a sorority house. After last week's news that Jessica Simpson would be recording a country album, Billboard is now reporting that Jewel will go the country route as well. The singer, who has always had country influences, has signed a deal with Nashville label Valory Music Company. Jewel, who meets The Burns Standard (*see below), should be a nice addition to an already-overflowing Nashville scene.

When you consider the fact that Carrie "First Wonder of the World" Underwood choose country over pop after "American Idol," plus the success of Shania, Faith Hill, Taylor Swift, and everyone else, two things are abundantly clear.

1) Country looks like the hot music trend of the near future (if it isn't already).

2) Nashville has a ton of hot chicks.

Seriously, I'm moving to Nashville and becoming a country music manager. If Mutt Lange can land Shania Twain, then I'm pretty sure I could get Taylor Swift and Miranda Lambert. Taylor Swift is legal, right? No? Alright, sub in someone else then. And how tough can being a country manager really be? "That sounds good, now add some banjo and throw in a line about making your mama proud... Cool, that's a wrap." I'll make hit albums and marry and divorce up-and-coming stars while wearing a big orange hat. Life will be good.

[*The Burns Standard is named in honor of my friend Burns, who, when asked if a girl is attractive, will often say, "she meets both of my standards." I think you can figure it out.]
