Not only did the couple attend, but they rode on one of the floats. As seen in the picture, Jennifer Lopez proudly waived the Puerto Rican flag to the delight of the masses that lined NYC's 5th Avenue last Sunday. The crowd cheered and yelled "Viva Puerto Rico!"
"I didn't know they were going to come," said Lopez. "They're my people."
Hmm, I always thought Jennifer Lopez was from "the block," not Puerto Rico. Actually, a quick scan of Wikipedia reveals that J. Lo was raised in the Bronx by her Puerto Rican parents. The back-up choices were apparently a guy who once traveled to Puerto Rico for business, a woman who likes Bacardi, and Kevin Bacon.
(Nah, I'm just kidding, she's legit.)
Marc Anthony was the Marshal of last year's Puerto Rican Day Parade. This year, Ricky Martin was named the King of the Parade. Looks like Enrique Iglesias pretty much has it locked up for next year.
