Dolly Parton did a favor for her home county, Sevier County, as she raised around $500,000 to help build the Fort Sanders Sevier Medical Center, cancer center and medical office.

Parton raised the money at a show this past Sunday at Smokies Park, where tickets went from $33 to $150. Parton apparently thanked the audience for the money they spent, following the thank you up with, "I ain't worth it, but the folks in Sevier County are."

Parton also pledged another $500,000, split between her Dollywood theme park and Dixie Stampede dinner theater. Construction for the hospital broke ground yesterday and should open in 2009.
