What is it with British bands recording in the US, anyway? The second they have some success, they come running over here -- usually to California, just like Dirty Pretty Things are doing.

Reportedly, the band has over 20 songs written for the new album, and they will be trying some new things.

Anthony Rossomando said, of one of the new songs, “It's actually a pretty nice, sentimental little song. But, we'd rather have that piano-y song sound like Arab Strap than fucking Coldplay. If we're gonna try something we didn't do on the first record, there's always a couple of ways you can go with it."

And I think we're all breathing a sigh of relief that they're not going Coldplay on us.

Anthony also said he and Carl have been doing a lot of writing in cemeteries around London, just walking -- often seperately -- and writing.

Excited yet? Well don't get too excited.  Nobody is talking about the album being released until sometime in spring of next year.
