They may not care about sample clearance, but they sure do give an eff about the environment.

De La Soul and Girl Talk will headline this year's Forecastle Festival in Louisville, Kentucky on July 27 and 28 at The Belvedere.

The festival aims to give an equal voice to musicians, artists and activists and, unlike other such summer parties, has a mission statement:

The goal of Forecastle is to establish a new festival model in the United States. While similar in comparison to California's music/art, desert phenomenon Coachella, Forecastle goes a step further by offering activists equal representation. The result is three cultural mediums ~ music.art.activism ~ equally showcased in a scenic, outdoor environment.

Other bands on the two-day bill include Particle, Chicago Afrobeat Project, Mucca Pazza, How I Became the Bomb, Wax Fang, The Features, Early Day Miners, The High Water Marks, Kelly McRae, The Old Ceremony, The Impossible Shapes, Cheer Accident, The Octobers and more.
