According to his own MySpace page, Daddy Yankee was hospitalized last week suffering from "acute viral syndrome and dehydration" and forced to cancel a number of upcoming appearances.

The illness caused the reggaeton MC to pull out of a scheduled performance on the MTVtres float at the National Puerto Rican Day Parade in New York City yesterday as well as the Bling Blineo Concert at Shea Stadium on Saturday. He will spend the rest of this week recuperating.

No word on which exact virus took Yankee down, but his camp does note that he spent most of his waking hours last week promoting the release of El Cartel: The Big Boss.
