Carl is currently working on a role in an upcoming movie about rock stars of the 1960s. Carl will be playing Gene Vincent in a movie called Telstar.

And no, I have no idea who Gene Vincent is, either.

My good friends at Wikipedia, however, do:

Gene Vincent, real name Vincent Eugene Craddock, (February 11, 1935 - October 12, 1971) was an American rock'n'roll pioneer musician, best known for his hit "Be-Bop-A-Lula".

Now that we've settled that, reports say Carl has already been filming for a few weeks. There is no release date for the movie as of yet, seeing as it has just started filming, but it should be interesting to see what the latest musician-turned-actor does, as well as what kind of American accent Carl can pull off.

Maybe instead of an NME award, he'll get himself an Oscar.
