The singer says not only was he surprised the message reached a wide audience [welcome to the Internet, Mr. Wolf], but the wide audience misunderstood what he was saying -- simply put: he'll touring less and not doing interviews anymore.
The singer told the NME:
"I never said I was quitting music, and second of all, I never did it in a public way... For me to say I was going to quit music is like saying I'm going to commit suicide. It's the most extreme thing that could happen in my life. That would make me miserable, so I would never say I was quitting music, because I would never know where to start."
$10 goes to the first blogger to snag the "I'm going to commit suicide" out of context and run with it.
The singer said he was working on many new projects, including possible collaborations with Atari Teenage Riot and Alec Empire.
As for why he posted what he did, which really did make it sound like he was quitting music, no real explanation was given. Which is fine. We all have bad days. At least he didn't run off to "rehab" and instead, just said, "hey, I didn't quite mean that." Respect.
