Just days ago, Bryan Adams announced that he would play multiple shows in the Middle East in an effort to bring peace to the region. Sadly, Adams has now canceled these concerts. The shows were canceled because of... wait for it... threats of violence.

The concert organizer said:

Extremist ideologists have threatened our participants in Jericho, and we felt it is our responsibility not to play with their lives. Our mission is not to entertain. It is to mobilize moderate voices. If we have to postpone, we have to postpone.

Wow, that's ironic, and not just Alanis Morissette irony; we're talking real irony. This is heartbreaking news. I mean, I REALLY thought this was going to be the end of all that Israeli-PLO fighting. I guess I kind of hoped that Bryan Adams would sing "(Everything I Do) I Do It For You" and the two groups would stop fighting, hug, and agree to split the Gaza strip.

Oh well, maybe next year.

And wait, did they say their goal is "not to entertain?"
