Before he was the front man for Everclear, Art Alexakis had a band called Colorfinger. I presume they were half Goldfinger, half Color Me Badd. Anyway, someone is now selling a Colorfinger CD called Deep in the Heart of the Beast in the Sun online.
Art is urging fans not to purchase this CD, as the sellers are not affiliated with him or Everclear in any way.
He says:
i have no idea who is doing it at this point, but my lawyer is already in the process of shutting down the site
i urge everyone to not have anything to do with these people
it's just wrong.....they are trying to capitalize on everclear's success without having
any right to do so
i alone own all rights and masters to the band name colorfinger and everything that was produced under that name
It's a scam, baby. Art promises to re-release the Colorfinger CD officially as soon as he can find a label that suits his needs. He hopes this will happen sometime in 2007. So, I guess that means "new" material from Art Alexakis is on the way. Try to be patient until then and avoid buying the album from these online con artists. After all, bootlegging is like paedophilia; If you don't have the balls to do it face-to-face, you really don't deserve it.
