After last week's surprise set from Pete Doherty and Carl Barat, people have been dying to know if this means The Libertines will be back together. From the look of things, the answer is no.
Carl's official word is, " Are there any plans for any more reunions? Not really. I'm really into the new stuff I'm writing."
It was widely reported the duo planned the appearance and kept it secret, to avoid a media circus around the show [more than the sort of circus the mere presence of Pete Doherty normally creates]. Rumors have abounded that The Libertines may be back for good, but it looks like -- at least for now -- it was a one-time gig, and we'll all just have to be happy with Babyshambles and Dirty Pretty Things for the time being.
