Ozzfest maintained its classy airs over the weekend as fires blazed, fans got into fights with cops and, if Rolling Stone is to be believed, a toxic cloud of smoke was sent rolling through the crowd.

One of the things the review lists as "not cool" was, "Parents who ... [encourage] their kids to stoke an illegal fire by tossing in cardboard hot-dog cartons and loose socks."

Yep, definitely sounds like Ozzfest to me.

Apparently fires started burning around the time Static-X hopped on the stage and Rolling Stone says "restless thugs started lightning noxious bonfires that suffocated the crowd."

You see, sometimes free isn't always better.

The review did credit Lamb of God with one of the day's better sets, citing a "skin-peeling one-hour set that hemorrhaged" certain songs. Although I'm not sure what that means exactly.

The highly cynical review of the weekend's show also mentioned "tired shouts of ‘Show me your tits!'," one of the older concert adages, as well as details of Lordi's bloody-body-part tossing, which you can read here.

Mr. Prince of Darkness closed out the show with an apparently rousing set featuring his hits, "Mr. Crowley" and "Crazy Train."
