Good news for Danzig fans -- this May, a two-disc set of unreleased Danzig songs will be released, containing 26 rare tracks, including covers of David Bowie, T-Rex, and The Germs, as well as unheard original songs from the band.

Our good friends at MTV.com reports that "Satan's Crucifixion Points to Hell," which was written at producer Rick Rubin's request for "the most Satanic song in the world", will be on the collection. Said Danzig of the song, "The song started out as a song to just drive this guy crazy. We sent it to him, and he said, 'This is crazy. They're destroying this record — it's totally Satanic. And you want this to be the first single?' So while it started as a joke song, it's become a really good song."

There's lots more to the set, which is also said to include a hardcover book of thoughts from frontman Glen Danzig, and tons of songs recorded between 1998 and 2004.

All I can say is I'm looking forward to it. It's been a while since I've had the opportunity to hear "the most Satanic song in the world" -- or even any Satanic songs. I blame the proliferation of Christian rock and metal, but that's a rant for another day. Why? Because Danzig saved the day, today.
